Incredible Swim tonight

Tonight was an incredible swim night.
Last week on my long swim day, I swam a 1500 straight. My time was 24:20, or 1:37 per 100 yards. I was pretty happy with that because when I finished my swim, I felt as thought I could have done another one.
The total 2.4 mile swim in an Ironman distance triathlon is 2.4 miles or 4,224 yards. If I can keep up a pace of 1:37 per 100, that would put me under 1 hr 10 minutes for my swim, which would probably put me at the front of the pack for the age groupers.
Tonight’s long swim was 2,500 yards. I felt pretty good for the entire swim. When I finished, my time was 40:50 or 1:38 per 100!!! I am so, so happy with that I can barely contain myself. I am confident that I will be able to build my base over the next 3 1/2 months and keep this pace or slightly better for the race.
Wish me luck.
